DescriptionThe Madeira Kinglet is 9 to 10 cm long. Until 2003, the species was considered as a subspecies of the Red-headed Kinglet . It differs from the latter by shorter eyebrows, a more dull orange tuft and a longer beak [1] .
SpreadThe Madeira Kinglet is an endemic island of Madeira. It lives in laurel forests at an altitude of 600 to 1550 m above sea level [2] . Prefers landscapes overgrown with Erica tree [3] . Collects insects from leaves and branches.
ReproductionA ball-shaped nest hangs on a branch, and is built from cobwebs, moss and small branches.
