History
In 1617, on the territory of the settlement of the Ufa fortress on the right bank of the Sutoloki River, a wooden Church was built in the name of St. Nicholas and the Miracle Worker , as well as a Church in honor of the Protection of the Holy Virgin . The Wooden Temple and the Church do not currently exist.
The construction of the stone Church began with the Ufa merchant D. S. Zhulyabin. The building has a sign "The building of the Intercession Church was built in 1817 in the style of Russian classicism is a monument of religious architecture and is protected by the state." An ancient icon of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary is stored in the Intercession Church [2] . The chapel in the name of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker was consecrated in 1817. In 1823 the main church and the chapel were consecrated, updated after the fire of 1821. It was closed in 1941. For some time it was used as a pharmacy warehouse. Reopened in 1957 [1] .
