- Shutter type - mechanical, curtain-slotted with horizontal movement of cloth curtains. Shutter speeds - from 1/30 to 1/500 sec, “ B ” and long. Shutter speed with electronic flash - 1/30 s.
- The lens mount type is a threaded connection M42 × 1 / 45.5 .
- Native lens : “ Industar-50-2 ” 3,5 / 50 or “ Helios-44-2 ” 2/58.
- The viewfinder image field size is 20 × 28 mm.
- The type of focusing screen is frosted glass. Mirror of constant sight .
- The magnification of the eyepiece is 5 × , a removable ocular ring, which allows you to install a diopter lens (from glasses ) to correct the photographer’s vision.

On the basis of Zenith-V, a medical photographic recorder Zenit-VE ( 1972-1985 , 1,506 pieces) was produced for shooting through an endoscope . Lenses of a special design for an endoscope or a lens were not equipped with an adapter — adapter .
In the 1970s and 1980s, BelOMO produced the “ laboratory ” Zenit-V ( Zenit-E ?) Without an exposure meter, without a pentaprism with a light-shielding shaft (the image turned upside down from left to right). The only excerpt by hand . Intended for microphotography and reproduction shooting . There was no sync contact.
In 1972 - 1973, Zenit-VM was produced ( Zenit-EM without a light meter ), only 1,239 copies were produced.
