Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine ( Ukrainian: Honors of Science and Technology of Ukraine ) is the honorary title of Ukraine conferred by the President of Ukraine to citizens of Ukraine , foreigners and stateless persons .

The title is conferred on scientists with a Ph.D. or Candidate of Science degree for outstanding works in the field of science and technology , design and ergonomics that have received international recognition or the training of highly qualified scientific personnel.

Award History
The very first predecessor of the award was the title "Honored Worker of Science and Technology or Art" of the Ukrainian SSR . Then the name was repeatedly changed: “Honored Worker of Science of the Ukrainian SSR”, “Honored Worker of Science and Technology of the Ukrainian SSR”; in a resolution of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Ukrainian SSR of October 10, 1969, only the title "Honored Scientist of the Ukrainian SSR" was already listed. From 1988 to 2001, the honorary title of Honored Worker of Science and Technology of the Ukrainian SSR was in effect [1] .
In connection with the adoption of the Law of Ukraine “On State Awards of Ukraine”, the title “Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine” [2] is currently in force. The persons awarded the honorary title were awarded the badge, which was made of silver-plated non-ferrous metal - tompak . In accordance with the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the Ukrainian SSR, a breastplate was worn on the right side of the chest. One of the first to be awarded was E. L. Streltsov (2002).
Breastplate
A badge is attached to the honorary title, which has the shape of an oval wreath formed by two branches of bay leaves. The ends of the branches below are entwined with a ribbon. In the middle of the wreath there is a figured cartouche with the inscription of the title of honor. The cartouche is crowned with the small State Emblem of Ukraine . The front side of the badge is convex, all the images and the inscription are embossed. On the back of the badge is a fastener for attaching to clothes.
The size of the badge is 35 × 45 mm, the material is silver .
The badge is worn on the right side of the chest.
