Botanical Description
This species is similar to prickly aralia ( Aralia spinosa ). Usually grows bushy, less often a tree up to 8 m high. The whole plant is a little prickly.
Leaves 40–80 cm long, without thorns or with few scattered thorns; ovate or widely ovate leaflets , 5-10 cm long, sharp, finely pressed, serrated, pubescent below, sessile or almost sessile.
The panicle is usually single, 25-40 cm long; umbrellas are located on the axes of the second-fourth order.
Fruits with a diameter of about 3 mm.

- Aralia chinensis var. chinensis - this species is found in China and Vietnam;
- Aralia chinensis var. longibractea J.Wen - grows in Malaysia.

Species Chinese Aralia is a member of the genus Aralia ( Aralia ) of the subfamily Aralioideae of the family Araliaceae of the order Umbrellae ( Apiales ).
