The real name is Novikov; L. M. Leonidov reported that his mother was the actress Maria Glebova (1840-1919) [1] .
He studied at the St. Petersburg Conservatory (class of violin and composition); here he also attended a drama course with N. F. Sazonov and D. D. Korovyakov . He appeared on the scene in 1881; in 1882-1884 he was at the Maly Theater , then played in the provinces. Acted in roles: Hamlet , Othello , Ferdinand , Uriel Acosta , Chatsky , Neznamov and others.
In 1905-1926 he lived in Kiev; in 1907 he built a theater here and opened drama courses. He performed with tours in St. Petersburg and Moscow. He was an entrepreneur of the opera-dramatic troupe.
He wrote articles and essays on theatrical topics; its publication:
