Biography

The son of Colonel Otton-Johann von Ronne’s first marriage, was born in the 1720s. He entered the Russian military service in 1743, in 1756 he was a lieutenant , in 1767 a lieutenant colonel , and on June 3, 1769 he was promoted to colonel with the appointment as commander of the Kargopol carabinierine regiment .

On January 12, 1770, the Ronne Carabinieri, together with the hussars of Colonel Drevits , routed a column of armed supporters of the Bar Confederation in the town of Dobra - “between Kalisz and Sieradzem” [2] , for which on February 3 he was awarded the Order of St. Georgy III degree number 2 on the cavalier lists :

For defeating at m. Wlodawa the enemy, consisting of about 2500 people, and repulsing 3 guns from him and the whole convoy with three squadrons and 40 Cossacks. In the year 770 of the 12th of February, for breaking an outrageous party in Poland near Orekhov [3] and repulsing 15 cannons.

On March 17, 1774, he was promoted to the rank of major general and in 1776 was part of the Livonia division ; on June 28, 1782 he was promoted to the rank of lieutenant-general .

Relationship with Suvorov

Despite the successful actions of the regiment and its individual units in battles against supporters of the Bar Confederation , including under the general command of A.V. Suvorov , [4] the relations of Ronne and Suvorov remained strained to the limit. Under Veymarn - according to their personal relations and the general lack of cavalry units in Poland and Lithuania - Ronne enjoyed a certain independence, without being formally subordinated to Suvorov. Upon the appointment of Bibikov to the place of Weimarn, Suvorov sent him the following letter, which exhaustively characterizes his attitude towards Ronne:

With Renn we get to the thin; he is a well-known, foolish, dissolute, thin-hearted man, and, to put it bluntly, the appropriator of another's. In addition to rudeness, he did not fix anything else here, but except for the abovementioned, he is hardly capable of anything. A thick pocket covers everything ... His grievances overcome my patience; his sample is very bad for others ... I don’t mind if I get another regiment instead of Kargopol on a schedule; not only by his actions in the ground, but also by the regiment you will get into trouble, [5] and my head hurts from looking back.

The complaint was taken, and Suvorov was pleased with the satisfaction he received: “I have betrayed everything to oblivion,” he writes at the end of August, “if only Rennes would keep himself from insidious inventions.” [6]

The second wife (from 03/23/178) was Maria Andreevna (Aurora-Maria) von Lilienfeld (12.20.1752-10.05.1810), the daughter of a Holstein adviser at the embassy. On November 13, 1796, she was granted to the State Lady and appointed as the Housemaster of Grand Duchess Anna Feodorovna ; April 5, 1797, during the coronation of Emperor Paul , received the Order of St.. Catherine of the lesser cross. Their kids:

Arsenyev sought her hands and was considered her fiancé. Upon learning of the engagement breaking, Arsenyev called Khreptovich to a duel and was killed.

Notes

  1. ↑ According to the cavalier lists.
  2. ↑ By the standards of modern geographical science, Good is located between the Kalisz and Sieradz meridians, being located east-northeast of the first and north-west of the second.
  3. ↑ Explicit mistake in the order: the battle at Dobra was confused on January 12, 1770, and the battle of Orekhov under the command of AV Suvorov on September 2, 1769, in which only a half-squad patrol of the Kargopol carabineers under the command of the captain of the Castelli, joined Suvorov to his detachment at dawn of the previous day. Under Wlodawa, the main forces of the Kargopol carabineros did distinguish themselves the next day, September 3, after the battle of Orekhov.
  4. ↑ with the exception of the actions of the squadron of the captain of Wagner with sec. Nesvitsa - for which Wagner was honored with Suvorov's letter outlining the shortcomings of his Carabineros and ways to eliminate them.
  5. ↑ although the regiment itself during the entire campaign showed itself in the eyes of Alexander Vasilyevich from the best side, examples of this were: Captain Count Castelli, Prime Minister Major Michelson , and Alexander Vasilyevich himself, having received the rank of Major General, appointed himself as an orderly. of all possible regiments — namely, the commander of the squadron of captain Shilling of the Kargopol carabinerine regiment Ivan Tokarev.
