It is the administrative center of the Khukhryansky village council, which, in addition, includes the villages of Peremoga and Pylevka .

Geographical position

The village of Khukhra is located on the left bank of the Vorskla River at the confluence of the river Khukhra , the village of Pylevka is located upstream at a distance of 1.5 km, the village of Lutishche is located downstream at a distance of 3 km, and the village of Pelevshchina is on the opposite bank. Upstream of the Khuhra River at a distance of 2.5 km is the village of Peremoga . The river in this place is winding, forming estuaries, elders and swampy lakes. Forests adjoin the village (pine). Nearby is the highway N-12 .

History

  • On the outskirts of the village of Khukhra , a Neolithic settlement with a workshop of flint tools was discovered, the remains of a settlement dating back to Bronze, Pre-Scythian and Scythian times (VIII-IV centuries BC) were investigated.
  • The first mention of the village of Khukhra dates back to 1651 .
  • Until 1765, it was the center of the Khukhryansk hundreds of the Akhtyrsky Sloboda Cossack Regiment .
  • During the Northern War, the village in February 1709 was burned by the Swedes.

It was a village of the Khukhryan volost of the Akhtyr district of the Kharkov province of the Russian Empire .

During the Great Patriotic War, the village was under German occupation .

The population of the 2001 census was 2069 people [1] .
