Yumorina
Golubenko himself describes the moment of the idea of creating Humorina as follows [2] :
It was a gloomy autumn day of 1972. My friends and cavemen went to speak in the regional center of Odessa region. The mood was dreary, as KVN had recently been banned. The bus was thrown from side to side. In the end, the driver went astray and we got lost. The future seemed hopeless and gray, like the landscape outside the window. In order to somehow amuse ourselves, we began to figure out how (in a humorous sense) one could surprise Odessa. It was decided to try to hold a grandiose festival of laughter in the city, to which my friend Oleg Stashkevich suggested giving the name "Humorina." That autumn night in the old bus, we had a lot of ideas, but it seemed that it would be very difficult to implement them. Therefore, I can’t tell you how I felt a sense of joy some time later, when I looked from the balcony of the Student Palace at the thousands of columns of Odessa Humorina. But even then I did not imagine that this holiday would become world famous and go down in the history of Odessa for many years.

From the author
This book consists of fictional stories. No matter how fantastic they may seem. Odessa is simply such a city about which it is impossible to invent anything. It will always be less interesting and certainly less funny than it actually was. Therefore, for the “Red City”, thanks to all the inhabitants of Odessa, and above all, Isaak Emanuilovich Babel , who once coined the name “ Odessa Tales ” for his wonderful book, which over the past years has become, in my deep conviction, not even a name, but a whole a genre of literature in which all of us who write about Odessa, to the best of our humble powers, are trying to work.
