Description
In the game, you can fight for the US Marine Corps (USMC) or the Imperial Navy of Japan (IJN) with support for up to 24 players on both sides. There are three classic cards in the game: Wake Island, Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima. After collective production by players of 43 million murders, console versions gained access to an additional map - the Coral Sea [5] .
There are three classes in the game: attack aircraft, engineer, and scout. Medic is absent because there is a health regeneration. And also there are no high-tech improvements to weapons.
Release and Evaluation
At the time of the release of the Xbox Live Arcade version, there were problems with the server and recording statistics. DICE's Gordon Van Dyke commented on the fact that the volume of players was higher than expected. To solve the problems, EA and DICE added several servers.
Despite the problems, DICE reported that after the first day of release, players accumulated 29.45 years of playing time and more than 5 million kills.
According to one of the directors of the Xbox Live game network, Larry Grib, Battlefield 1943 was the 2009 best-selling Xbox LIVE Arcade game.
On February 3, Digital Illusions CE announced on its blog that the PC version of Battlefield 1943 was canceled. The company also announced the cancellation of the PC version of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Onslaught.
