Juliette and the Licks

Juliette and the Licks is an American rock band formed by actress Juliette Lewis in 2003 and lasting until 2009. Before creating her own group, Lewis made cover versions of PJ Harvey 's songs “Hardly Wait” and “Rid of Me” for the 1995 film “ Strange Days ”, in which she herself starred.

Juliette & the Licks performed alternative rock [1] , marked by the influences of PJ Harvey, Iggy Pop , the new wave of the 1980s [2] , and became popular thanks to songs such as “You're Speaking My Language” and “Hot Kiss” . Three singles of the group were in the UK Singles Chart [3] . In addition to Juliet, the last lineup included guitarists Craig Feuerbach and Emilio Cueto, bassist Jason Womack and drummer Ed Davis.

In early 2009, Lewis announced the dissolution of the group Juliette and the Licks and the creation of a new band The New Romantiques [4] .
