NGC 7593

NGC 7593 (other designations are PGC 70981 , UGC 12483 , MCG 2-59-20 , ZWG 431.35 , KUG 2315 + 110 , IRAS23154 + 1104 ) is a spiral galaxy ( Sc ) [1] in the constellation Pegasus , the distance to which is estimated at approximately 180 million light years [2] . This object is one of those listed in the original edition of the New General Catalog .

Features

NGC 7593 can be observed in the night sky in the southern part of the Pegasus constellation, near the border with the constellation Pisces . It is not visible to the naked eye. The galaxy was discovered by German astronomer Albert Mart on October 5, 1864 [4] . NGC 7593 is part of the cluster of galaxies Pegasus I (Pegasus I) [5] . The angular frequency of rotation at a distance of 1 kiloparsec from the center is 21 ± 4 km / s [6] .
