The species range covers Eastern Siberia , the Far East of Russia ( Kamchatka ) [2] . Described from Kamchatka .
It grows in alpine meadows .
The rhizome is short, oblique, slightly thickened. The stem is straight, smooth, up to 70 cm high, with a thickness of not more than 3 mm.
Leaves are few, lower on long petioles , finger-to-five separate to base, lobes with 3-5 large whole teeth, sphenoid or lanceolate, glabrous, vary widely in width and length.
Inflorescence is a loose brush of 1-7 dark blue large flowers . Helmet 1-12 cm high, up to 2 cm long, up to 2.5 mm wide at the level of the nose, rounded, with a sickle-shaped, relatively narrow nose; lateral perianth lobes are very large, rounded triangular with cilia, up to 2.2 cm long, about 2.5 cm wide; lower perianth lobes linear-lanceolate, 2–2.5 cm long, 0.6–1 cm wide, with cilia. Nectaries with a thin, curved nail, a short, unbent capitate spur and a small plate ending in a small lip with a short notch. Five ovaries , slightly pubescent.
The live-leaved wrestler species is part of the genus Wrestler ( Aconitum ) of the tribe Zhivostennye ( Delphinieae ) of the subfamily Ranunculoideae of the family Ranunculaceae of the order Ranunculaceae .
