Earning Rating Points for the 2010/11 Season

The official two-year rating is taken as the basis for the season.

Recalculation of rating points (turning the preliminary rating into official) took place three times during the season and once after the 2011 World Cup .

This season, due to the introduction of the new rating system, there was a β€œsliding” rating, and players could only rely on points earned over the past two years. In other words, after the first recount (held after the World Open 2010 ), players lost points earned at the Northern Ireland Trophy 2008 , Shanghai Masters 2008 and Grand Prix 2008 ; after the 2nd (held at the end of the UK Championship 2010 ) - points earned at the Bahrain Championship 2008 and the UK Championship 2008 . The third and final recount before the World Cup left players without points earned at the Welsh Open 2009 .
