History
The construction of CHPP-16 began in 1940 ; while it was planned to be called the Leningrad Thermal Power Plant. In 1941, the foundations for the main buildings and various equipment were ready, the metal frame of the main building was mounted, the construction of the main switchgear and office building buildings was started. With the beginning of World War II, the construction of the thermal power station was completed, and the metal frame of the main building during the evacuation was dismantled and taken out of Moscow. The decision to continue construction was made on July 7, 1945 . In 1955, the station was commissioned, and in 1963 , after the last 100 MW unit was commissioned, the station reached its design capacity of 300 MW.
In the future, CHPP-16 was repeatedly modernized:
- the station was switched to gas-oil fuel, while a new fuel oil facility was built and reconstruction of fuel oil boilers was carried out ( 1972 - 1982 );
- modernization of heating and turbine equipment was carried out. A 3-stage heating of network water has been introduced;
- sewage treatment plants and installations for neutralizing aggressive waters are installed;
- measures were taken to reduce emissions of nitrogen oxides into the atmosphere, while a system of stepwise combustion of fuel was installed;
- the coastal pumping station was reconstructed and two pressure pipelines 2.5 km long were replaced;
- A system for processing industrial water supplied to power boilers has been introduced. At the same time, ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis processes are used to prepare desalinated water ;
- automated systems for commercial metering of thermal energy, electric energy and gas have been introduced;
- The main and auxiliary turbine equipment of lines 90 and 140 atmospheres were modernized and replaced;
- reconstructed and replaced the main and auxiliary electrical equipment.
Measures for the modernization and replacement of equipment made it possible to raise the station's electric power from 300 to 360 MW, and its heat capacity to 1484 Gcal / h. In addition, emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere decreased .
New Construction
Mosenergo Fuel and Energy Complex OJSC carries out the whole range of design and survey works and construction and installation works for the construction of a new power unit PGU-420T TPP-16 of Mosenergo OJSC and is preparing for the construction of the block on a turnkey basis.
The power unit will be implemented using modern combined-cycle technologies, which will ensure high efficiency of electric and heat energy generation and minimize negative impact on the environment. The power unit will include one gas and one steam turbine.
Key parameters of the new power unit:
- Electric power - 420 MW.
- Thermal power 195 Gcal / h.
- The total electric power of the power plant after reconstruction: 780 MW.
- Total thermal capacity of the power plant after reconstruction: 1484 Gcal / h.
The start-up of the unit was originally planned for December 2013 [2] , but was postponed to the end of 2014 [3] . As a result, the new power unit was launched on December 24, 2014 [4] .
In August 2012, the dismantling of one of the cooling towers began .
