History
Its original name is Bogoyavlinskoe.
The village was the center of Shentalinskaya volost. In 1827, the Stone Church was built and illuminated in the name of the Epiphany of the Lord. The church had a land of 99 acres, a library that consisted of 223 volumes.
With the emergence of zemstvo in the village there was a local station, (mail), was a medical assistant. At that time, Old Shentala was a large village, where there was a parish government, a parish court, and a bazaar was on Saturdays; here was the assembly point of the military-horse sector. In the village there were 2 water mills, churn.
According to the census of 1897, 1,905 people lived in the village.
