This object is one of those listed in the original edition of the New General Catalog .
Along with the galaxies NGC 7317 , NGC 7318A , NGC 7318B and NGC 7320 , it enters the so-called Stefan Quintet - a group of five galaxies, four colliding and one (NGC 7320), visually projecting onto them, but closer to us.
