Blue Irena , or blue-black Irena [1] ( lat. Irena puella ), is a species of Asian passerine bird from the family of Irene (Irenidae) [2] .

Content
DescriptionThe male has a bright black color with a shiny blue top. Azure female with gray wings and tail. Both sexes have red eyes.
DistributionThe range extends from the eastern Himalayas in southeast Asia to the islands of Borneo and Java. The next habitat in southwest India. The bird lives in dense tropical forests.
BehaviorBlue Irena flies in small flocks more often high up the treetops in search of fruits. It also feeds on insects, spiders and nectar.
ReproductionThe female builds a nest in the shape of a bowl from branches, moss and roots in a fork in the branches and hatches one clutch of 2-4 eggs. The male is involved in feeding the chicks.
