About the album
This is the first disc on which Iggy collaborated with ex-bassist Sex Pistols Glen Matlock . Video clips were made for the songs Loco Mosquito, Knocking 'Em Down (in the City) and Dog Food. The album reached 125th position on the Billboard charts . It was assumed that former member of The Stooges James Williamson and David Bowie would be producing the album, but the conflict between them led to both of them leaving the project.
There was some controversy over the lack of a solo guitar on the final recording, which was criticized by Glen Matlock. In Iggy Pop's biography, Matlock claims the guitar was removed after David Bowie was beaten by Steve New, who wanted to pester his girlfriend.
