The Northern Duma ( ukr. Siveanska Dumka ) is a publishing company that existed in the period 1917-1919 . and restored in 1991 .
Activity
Founded in December 1917 on the initiative of V. L. Modzalevsky, D.I. Doroshenko, Ilya Shrag, Mikhail Mogilyansky and Yuri Vinogradsky. Publishing brand of the company - a small masterpiece of book graphics was created by the artist George Narbut . During the course of her work, she published a number of poems by Taras Shevchenko and Boris Grinchenko . In the autumn of 1919, due to the unfavorable conditions of civil war, the organization ceased its activities and existence.
In March 1991, the publishing company was restored under the old name at the Faculty of History of CSPU . Its official founder was the Chernihiv branch of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation, the chief editor is the dean of the history department A. Kovalenko, and the director is associate professor of the history department Lepiavko S.
