It grows in shady coniferous and mixed forests , along shrubs.
Stem up to 1 m high, slightly curly and branched at the end.
Leaves up to 10 cm long, up to 15 cm wide, pentagonal in general outline, cut to the base into 5 segments, rhombo-oval, sessile or petioles ; the middle one is divided into 3, lateral into 2 segments of the 2nd order, bearing large, pointed teeth.
Inflorescence is a loose brush ; the flowers are purple, usually bent backwards and sit on pedicels equipped with leaf-like bracts , often arched from the stem. The helmet is round-conical with a small nose bent upward, far set aside from the lateral lobes, 13-14 mm high, 20-23 mm long, 12-15 mm wide at the level of the nose; unequal lateral lobes, 14-15 mm long, 9-11 mm wide; lower lobes 10-12 mm long. Nectar with a hook-shaped bent spur and a long plate.
