Located on the famous Platanova Alley - the most important and famous part of the main street of Sochi - Kurortny Prospekt . From the fountain originates the no less famous Shopping Gallery .
Description
The outdoor decorative hydraulic structure is a pool filled with water with many streams that discharge water under pressure. It is equipped with fountain and lighting equipment, which allows water jets to “sing and dance” to sounding music. The fountain works only in the summer in the evening, when color and visual effects are best perceived. In the daytime, in spring, summer and autumn, a water cascade from a nearby bar works.
History
The fountain was built during the construction and arrangement of the Commerce Gallery in 1970. In the post-Soviet era, an ultramodern bar “Neo” was built near the fountain, which made up a single structure with the fountain (now, instead of the bar, the restaurant “Rice”). In 2009, the fountain was put up for repair work. The work was carried out by the company SPETSAKVASTROY, Sochi. Fountain pumps were replaced, a filtration system and a new mosaic finish were made. The fountain received a second life.
