Story
The plot of the animated series comes after the first movie “ Spiderman ” by director Sam Raimi [1] . Norman Osborn is dead. Peter Parker , Mary Jane Watson and Harry Osbourne attend Empire State University. Peter can't fix a relationship with Mary Jane. The duties of Peter's superhero, and then his involvement in Indira Daimonji, interfere with his love affair with Mary Jane. Harry is eager for revenge on the Spider-Man who is to blame for the death of his father. Peter faces many other villains, including Lizard , Craven the Hunter and Electro , trying to keep his job and school.

Production
Development
Initially, the animated series was supposed to be an adaptation of the Ultimate Spider-Man comic. However, after the success of the 2002 Spiderman film, the concept of the show was reworked, which made Spiderman 2003 a free continuation of Sam Reimi’s painting [1] . The producer of the animated series was Brian Michael Bendis , the scriptwriter for Ultimate Spider-Man . The development was responsible for Sony Pictures Television , which acquired the rights to Spider-Man in film and television formats. Computer graphics (CGI) was developed by Mainframe Entertainment [2] .
Initially, Peter Parker was supposed to wear baggy clothes designed to hide his superhero muscles, but the economic difficulties with the CG format did not allow him to hide the folds of everyday clothes. As a result, Peter's street clothes were replaced with a tight and modern, at the same time hiding physical data (and a superhero costume under it) [1] . Aunt Mae did not appear in the animated series (with the exception of the photograph in Peter’s bedroom), due to the fears of the MTV leadership that the appearance of any older characters would alienate the target youth audience from watching [3] .
According to the creators, MTV's casual standards provided them with creative freedom, greater than when creating other children's morning shows [4] .
Cancel
MTV management closed the animated series due to insufficiently high ratings, as a result of which the narration was cut short on a cliffhanger . According to the director Brandon Vietti, in the second season it was planned to use the Mysterio , the Vulture , and also more Craven the Hunter [1] .
