She started playing chess at the age of 5 years. Elena started her chess career in Minsk, where she reached the rank of master candidate. Then she moved to Russia and took Russian citizenship. At the age of 14, Elena became a female international grandmaster, at the age of 15 she became a male international master.
World champion among girls under 10 years old (2001) and up to 14 years old (2005). In 2006, she won the Russian Championship among girls under 20 . Two-time silver medalist at the Russian Championship Superfinal Women Championship (2006, 2007). Winner of the Higher League Championship of Russia among women (2009). Member of the Russian women's national chess team, in which she was the winner of the World Team Championship (2007).
In 2008, fell ill with lung cancer. March 16, 2010 died in the 19th year of life after a long illness.
The FIDE rating as of 01/03/2010 was 2455. In the rating of the world's leading chess players at the age of under 20, in November 2009, it was ranked 6th.
