Biography
Born on March 26, 1914 in the village of Belki in the territory of Austria-Hungary (now Irshava district of Transcarpathian region of Ukraine ). Ukrainian .
From the age of 12 he labored for fists, went to work in Slovakia , Hungary , and the Czech Republic . Since 1936 he was in the Czech army. In 1938 he was released from the army, returned home, hired.
In 1943, together with other Ukrainians, he was interned in a labor camp; in the fall of 1944 he fled from it.
Since 1948 he worked as a permanent link-maize breeder of the farm “For New Life” of the Irshava district of Transcarpathian region. In 1957, the Pitra link raised 100 centners of corn per hectare.
Since 1984 he was retired. He lived in the village of Belki.
Member of the CPSU (b) / CPSU since 1951 . The delegate of the XXII Congress of the Communist Party of Ukraine and the XXVI Congress of the CPSU. Member of the village, district, regional councils. Member of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR in 1962-1989 [1] .
He died on March 4, 2009 . He was buried in Squirrels [2] .
Family
As of May 2008 , the family of Yuri Pitra consisted of the following members [3] :
- Johann's wife (1920-2004),
- son Peter (born October 27, 1941),
- sister-in-law Ustina Ivanovna,
- two grandchildren , four great-grandchildren ,
- two sisters: 83-year-old Julia and 78-year-old Elizabeth, as well as brother Alexander (80 years).

- By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of February 26, 1958 , Pyotr Yuri Yurievich was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Medal "Hammer and Sickle."
- By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of December 22, 1977 , Pitra Yuri Yurievich was awarded the Order of Lenin and the second gold medal "Hammer and Sickle". He twice became a Hero of Socialist Labor.
- He was awarded three orders of Lenin, orders of the October Revolution, the Red Banner of Labor, and medals. Also awarded the Ukrainian Order of Yaroslav the Wise ( 2004 ).
- Laureate of the USSR State Prize of 1976 .
- Honored Worker of Agriculture of the Ukrainian SSR ( 1974 ).
Memory
March 26, 1984 in the village of Belki opened a bronze bust of Yu.Yu. Petre. In 1977 - 1991 , a museum of the Hero of Socialist Labor twice worked in the village.
