Biography
He began to study music from his father, urban organist and choirmaster, then received a professional education in Vienna . From 1876 he taught at the Horak Keyboard School in Vienna [1] . Then he returned to Hungary and in 1889 - 1916 he conducted a piano class at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music , where among his students was Tivadar Santo . Together with Arpad, Sandy developed a systematic piano course for the academy.

Since 1990, Chowan has been named after the school of art in his hometown.
