Geography
The village is located in the north-eastern part of the Saratov region, on the border with the Penza and Ulyanovsk regions.
Geographically located on small hills, surrounded on all sides by forests and gardens, the river Donguz (a tributary of Kalmantai) flows through the village. Several centuries ago, it widely flooded the entire lowland, on the edges of which reed thickets grew, where wild boars were found in large numbers, hence the name .
History
The appearance of the first settled people here dates back to the 16th century, by the time the young Moscow state, after the overthrow of the Tatar-Mongol yoke, began to strengthen its eastern borders . Settlers mainly settled on Zaytseva Gora. These were refugees, runaway serfs . In the XVII-XVIII centuries, the defeated militias Stepan Razin and Emelyan Pugachev fled here. The date of formation of the village is considered August 18, 1785 according to the old style, or September 1 according to the new .
At the Saratov film studio in 1980, director D. A. Lunkov shot a documentary about the villagers “What Donguzu lacks [2] .”
