Israel Guri ( Hebrew ישראל גורי , birth name is (I) Srul , or Israel Gurfinkel ; October 15, 1893 , Girisheni , Orhei County , Bessarabian Province - September 17, 1965 ) - Israeli politician, member of the Knesset from the Workers' Party Mapai (1949-1965).

Israel Gurfinkel was born on October 15, 1893 in the village of Girisheni in Bessarabia (now the Telenesti region of Moldova ) in the family of the agricultural worker Dov-Ber Gurfinkel and his wife Liba Gershevna Berger [1] . He studied at the header and private gymnasium in Chisinau , then at Odessa University . Since 1919 - in Mandate Palestine (arrived on the ship "Ruslan" ) [1] . In 1922-1931 - member of the working council of Tel Aviv , then Secretary of the CEC of the Histadrut and the Assembly of Representatives of Mandatory Palestine.
He was elected to the Knesset of the 1st convocation in 1949, was re-elected four times ( 1951 , 1955 , 1959 , 1961 ). In 1951-1965 - Chairman of the Knesset Finance Commission [2]
The street in Tel Aviv is named after Guri.
The son of Israel Guri is the famous Israeli poet and journalist Haim Guri (1923-2018).
