2004 NBA Draft

The 2004 NBA draft took place on June 24 at the Madison Square Garden Theater in New York , NY and was broadcast live on ESPN . The draft was attended by a representative of 56 universities and high schools, as well as 38 foreign basketball players. On May 26, 2004, a lottery took place, where the order of choice was played out between the teams that did not qualify for the playoffs. The first choice went to the Orlando Magic team, which had the biggest chance of getting it - 25%. Los Angeles Clippers and Chicago Bulls were second and third, respectively. As an expansion team, the Charlotte Bobcats team automatically got a fourth choice and did not participate in the lottery. The Minnesota Timberwolves Club was suspended from participating in the first draft round due to a salary limit.
