The guidebook is kept in a transparent case on which it says in friendly letters: DO NOT PANIC! ( DON'T PANIC ). This is a device similar to an enlarged pocket calculator. It housed a hundred tiny buttons and a screen of ten centimeters on the diagonal, on which at the first request any of the millions of articles stored in the memory of this device could appear. You press the button, and the table of contents appears on the screen. The screen starts to glow, and numbers run on it. You type the desired word, and press the big red button under the screen, and the words begin to float on the screen (apparently, automatic scrolling). At the same time, the delivered announcer's voice begins to read aloud. (I: 5)
