The vane pump is one of the types of volumetric hand pumps , in which the impeller serves as a displacer.
By classification, they are classified as double-acting piston pumps . They are also known as Alveyer pumps.
Principle of Operation
With the help of the handle, which has a rigid kinematic connection with the impeller, the latter is informed of incomplete reciprocal-rotational movements. When moving clockwise (see figure), those two valves open that are shown in the figure open. When moving in the opposite direction, these valves close and the other two valves are open. Liquid injection occurs from the bottom up.
Scope
This type of pump is used up to a pressure of 1.8 MPa .
Vane pumps, like other types of hand pumps, are used in cases where it is impractical to mount a pump with an electric drive or an engine from an internal combustion engine .
These pumps are used, for example, for pumping water from small pits, for domestic needs, etc.
