Description
Small narrow-winged moths (wingspan from 8 to 11 mm) are usually brown. The head is relatively large with a bun of hair directly on the forehead. The antennae are long, almost the same as the front wings. The legs of the imago are long and slender. Larvae are distinguished by the presence of unusually long legs.
They are found on various plants, including sweet potatoes ( sweet potato , morning glory ), eggplant ( Solanum melongena ), millet ( Panicum sp.).
The cosmopolitan species Bedellia somnulentella develops on plants of the Convulvulaceae family.
