Distribution and Ecology
The species range covers the Far East of Russia , China and North Korea [2] .
They grow in the valley coastal forests and along the banks of streams, always in deep shade, on the soil, consisting of greasy humus and stones.
Botanical Description
Stems 2-3 mm in diameter, straight or uplifting at the base, weak, reclining, semi-curly, often form large plexuses, entangling the bushes with a continuous cover.
Basal leaves are long-leaved (up to 30 cm or more), 8-12 cm long, 15-20 cm wide, rounded in outline, half-cut into 5 wide lobes, each of which is divided into 3 weakly visible lobes with rounded teeth. Stem - on short petioles, triangular, three-lobed. From above the leaves are completely covered with sparse, short, yellowish hairs, from below only along the veins; the edges of the leaf are ciliated.
Inflorescences consist of numerous, small and sparse brushes sitting in the axils of the leaves; the branches of the inflorescence are densely covered with bright yellow stiff hairs. Bracts narrowly linear, shifted to the base of the peduncle . The helmet is wide-club-shaped, closed, white, 17β23 mm high, 4β7 mm wide in the upper part, 3β5 mm in the middle, and 10β14 mm at the tip of the nose; lateral perianth lobes 10β11 mm long, 8β10 mm wide, violet, bare outside with a dark stripe; the lower perianth lobes are unequal, 8β11 mm long and up to 3 and 6 mm wide, respectively, pubescent on the outside. Nectaries with an almost straight nail 15β18 mm long, with a thin, slightly bent, half-helix curved spur and a straight plate ending in an inconspicuous lip; stamens bare, widened from the middle.
Chemical Composition
Grass contains flavonoids . The leaves, stems, flowers, roots contain alkoloids , pseudo-aconitine .
Application
Grown as an ornamental plant.
Toxic . Used as an insecticide .
In Bulgaria, under strict medical supervision, it is used as a painkiller.
