Name Origin

Previously, Tsarskaya Street, so called along with Tsarsky passage (now 1st Khutorskaya Street ) and Tsarsky Lanes, presumably due to their proximity to a special railway line, on which the cars serving the tsar's family were driven from the Nikolaev (now Oktyabrskaya) railway to the ways of the Vindavsky (now Riga) and Smolensky (now Brest) directions of the Moscow railway. At the same time, on the map of Moscow in the Universal Guide to Moscow and Its Environs (1911) is called the Petrovsko-Razumovskoye Highway. It was renamed in 1922 according to the location of the street near the former Butyrsky farm of the Society of Agriculture.
