Alexander Vasilievich Svinin (born July 7, 1958 in Leningrad , USSR ) is a figure skating coach. Honored Coach of Russia ( 2010 ). [1] In the past, a Soviet ice skater performing in ice dancing . The silver medalist of the 1983 European Championship and the repeated medalist of the USSR championships paired with Olga Volozhinsky .

Content
Sports career
At the junior level, Alexander Svinin performed with Tatyana Evteeva. He lived and trained in Leningrad. Former loner Olga Volozhinsky invited him to move to Moscow , to Elena Tchaikovsky and join a couple [2] . Together with Volozhinsky, Svinin repeatedly became the prize - winner of the championships of the USSR . At their first world championship in 1981, they immediately became 5th, which for debutants is a very high result [3] [2] . However, in the future they could not climb the podium of the world championship, but became the second at the 1983 European Championship . We participated in the 1984 Olympics and took 7th place there.
Professional career
Having left amateur sports, Alexander Svinin and Olga Volozhinskaya turned into professionals [3] . They took part in the world championship among professionals, where, with a minimum score, they lost only to the legendary English dancers Jane Torville and Christopher Dean [2] . Participated in various shows, worked for seven years in the theater of Tatyana Tarasova "All Stars". After the collapse of the theater, already with Irina Zhuk , performed in an ice show in the UK [3] .
Coaching career
Having finished skating, Alexander Svinin and Irina Zhuk returned to Russia , to Moscow , and began to train athletes. The first famous students of the coaching duo were Yana Khokhlova and Sergey Novitsky , European champions in 2009 [4] . Later, Ekaterina Rubleva and Ivan Schaefer moved into their group [5] . They work with junior dance duets, for example, their students were Ekaterina Pushkash and Jonathan Gureiro [6] and Alexandra Stepanova and Ivan Bukin .
