School History
The school was opened in 1994. In 1997, the first graduation of 11th grade students took place. The school is named in honor of St. Tikhon Zadonsky - rector of the Tver Seminary (1959).
In 2007, Marina Begovatova, a student of the 11th grade, took 2nd place in the All-Russian Olympiad in Russian [1] [2] .
In 2009, the school turned 15 years old. The anniversary was attended by the head of the city, representatives of the city administration and Archimandrite Zacchaeus (Wood) , rector of the church of St. vmts. Catherine's Representation of the Orthodox Church in America [3] [4] [5] .
In January 2012, the school was attended by Metropolitan Jonah of America and Canada , Archimandrite Zacchaeus (Wood) , Bishop Melchizedek [6] .
Education
The school provides education from 1 to 11 grade. Graduates are issued state certificates.
In addition to general subjects, additional subjects are studied: Fundamentals of the Orthodox faith, Church hymnography , Church History , Church singing , Church Slavonic language .
School Temple
The school has a temple in the name of St. Tikhon Zadonsky . Before the lessons begin, morning prayer takes place there, and on the feast day and on Wednesday of the Bright Week, a liturgy is performed. Students themselves read and sing on the choir , serve at the altar. September 1 and the day of the last call , a moleben is held.
Icon Workshop
Icon painting workshop has existed in the school since 2003. Canonical icon painting based on old Russian painting. Icons for temples and private individuals are being executed.
