Otto II ( him. Otto II .; Died September 7, 1047 ) - Lorraine palatine graph in 1035-1045 , Duke of Swabia since 1045 , Count Deutz and Auelgau since 1025 . The son of Ezzo , the palatine count of Lorraine, and Matilda , the daughter of Emperor Otto II . He was also the founder of the Brauweiler Abbey, founded by his parents.

Biography
In 1034, Otto’s father died, Ezzo’s palatine counterpart, and he inherited his father’s possessions, since his older brother Ludolph died in 1031 .
In 1045, Emperor Henry III offered Otto to become the Duke of Swabia. In return, he passed the county palatinate to his cousin Heinrich . In addition, the territories Kaiserswerth and Duisburg were transferred to the crown.
In 1047 , preparing troops to repel the invasion of Baldwin V of Flanders , Otto unexpectedly died in his castle Tomburg . He is buried in the abbey of Brauweiler.
In 1048, Otto III von Schweinfurt, Margrave of Nordgau (1024–1031) and the Duke of Swabia (1048–1057), were appointed emperor to succeed Otto II in the duchy of Swabia.
Marriage and Children
Otto married the daughter of Hugo VI , Count Aigheim, and the sister of Pope Leo IX . Children:
1 Richenza (c. 1020 - 1082 ), wife from 1040 to Herman , Count Werle, and from 1050 to Otto Nordheim , Duke of Bavaria .
