Via della Conchiliation ( Italian. Via della Conciliazione , literally “The Street of Reconciliation ”) is one of the important streets of Rome . Located in the borgo area.

Summary

The length of the street is about 500 m. The street runs from St. Peter’s Square to the embankment of the western bank of the Tiber , leaving it between the bridge of Victor Emmanuel II and the bridge of the Castle of St. Angel . The Via della Concilia was designed as the main road to St. Peter’s Square during the 1936 Mussolini redevelopment of Rome. But it was built only for the Papal Jubilee year in 1950 . On the street there are many tourist shops, as well as a number of significant historical and religious buildings - the Palazzo Torlonia, the Palazzo dei Penitenzieri, the Palazzo dei Conververti, the church of Santa Maria in Traspontina and Santo Spirito in Sassia . The street can be reached from the metro station Ottaviano - San Pietro - Vatican Museums- Lines A of the Rome Metro .
