Description and Application
Entomological umbrellas have been known since at least the middle of the 19th century, mainly in Germany ( German Klopfschirm ) [1] They can be square and round in shape, and the radius of the round varies from 30 to 100 or more centimeters.
A standard entomological umbrella is a large umbrella , similar to an ordinary one. Usually, it is hemmed from the inside with strong, light matter. For ease of use, the entomological umbrella is often equipped with a hinged hinged handle, but a variant without a handle is also used.
An entomological umbrella is substituted under the branches of a tree or shrub, after which they inflict sharp blows with a stick or cane on the trunk or large branches. As a result of the blows, the branches are shaken, insects break from the branches and fall down, falling into a framed umbrella, from where they are then chosen for study or collection.
