Latin Union (Ancient Rome)

Initially, at the head of the Latin Union stood Alba Long , from the VI century BC. er Union headed Rome (after the destruction of it, according to the legendary tradition, in the 7th century BC. The complication of the political situation in Rome (the end of the 6th - the beginning of the 5th centuries BC ) during the establishment of the republic allowed some Latin communities to temporarily free themselves from Roman domination. During the Gallic invasion ( 390 or 387 BC. E. ) The Latin Union collapsed, but in 358 BC. er renewed on more favorable conditions for Rome and lasted until the Second Latin War ( 340 - 338 BC ), as a result of which it was abolished.
