Eurasia (film festival)

[1] Eurasia International Film Festival (Eurasia IFF) - the international film festival was held with the support of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan [2] in the city of Alma-Ata and was the largest cultural event in the life of the country. [3]

The main parameters of the festival program was built as a cultural bridge "East-West", therefore, in the framework of "Eurasia" retrospectives of paintings by famous directors, representatives of the East and the West are held. [four]

The festival is accredited by the International Federation of Film Producers' Associations ( FIAPF ).

The motto of the festival: "For a single cinematic space!" [2]

The festival was attended by such stars as Kim Ki Duk , Emir Kusturica , Jean-Claude Van Damme , Michele Placido , Catherine Deneuve, and others. In total, more than one hundred thirty film-makers from Europe, Asia, America, the CIS and the Baltic States take part in the festival.

According to the results of the audit, the Ministry of Culture and Information in 2007–2008 paid a total of 87.1 million tenge to invited actors to host “Eurasia”. [five]

The status of the festival was non-profit, the tickets for it were not sold, and it brought no income. [3]

In 2018, it will be held in Astana, in honor of the 20th anniversary of the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The time of the festival from July 1 to July 5, 2018

In 2009, it was decided that the film festival would now be called “Astana” and be held in Astana. [3] [5]
