Steven Cousins ( born May 24, 1972 ) is a British figure skater who performed in individual skating , an 8-time champion of Great Britain , the first British athlete to perform triple axel and the youngest figure skater in an international competition ever winning the UK Championship. He represented the country three times at the Winter Olympics , where the best result was sixth in 1998 .

Cousins trained for many years in the UK and the USA, until in 1993 he moved to Canada. He settled in the city of Barry . The athlete trained under the guidance of Doug Lee . In 1998, Cousins ended his amateur sports career, but continued to perform on ice shows , in particular Stars on Ice , [1] until 2007. Currently also works as a choreographer.

Personal life
In 2003, Cousins married with Canadian figure skater Kristina Lenko , who performed ice dancing , but in the summer of 2006 the couple broke up and later divorced.
In 2007, Cousins became a father: Elena Berezhnaya gave birth to a son [2] In June 2009, the couple had a daughter - Sofia-Diana. [3] . In 2014, Elena Berezhnaya officially announced the breakup with her husband.
