Emblem Description
"In an azure field under a green wavy head, having a silver-azure-silver double-cut wide rim - salmon of the same metal in a belt."
Symbolization Justification
The salmon depicted in the emblem of the Onega municipal district indicates that the salmon industry occupied an important place in the regional economy and underlines the continuous connection of many generations of the same people. The wavy silver belts and the blue field symbolize the importance of water resources - the Onega and White Sea rivers in the life of the region.
Green color is a symbol of nature, health, youth, life growth, it allegorically shows forests, located in the district and became the basis of forest and woodworking industries.
Silver is a symbol of purity, perfection, peace and understanding.
Blue color is a symbol of honor, nobility, spirituality; boundless sky and water spaces.
The coat of arms was approved by the decision of the 7th session of the Assembly of Deputies of the Onego Municipal District municipality of the fourth convocation of February 18, 2010 No. 28.
The emblem is listed in the State Heraldic Register of the Russian Federation under No. 5997.
