“ Land Surveyor Day of Ukraine ” ( Ukrainian - Land Surveyor Day ) is a national official professional holiday , which is celebrated in Ukraine annually, on the second Saturday of March [1] . "Land Surveyor Day" is not a day off in Ukraine. For the first time this professional holiday of Ukrainian land surveyors was celebrated in 2000 .

The professional holiday “Land Surveyor Day of Ukraine” was established by Decree of the President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma under number 1556/99, which he signed on December 11, 1999 . By this decree, the head of the republic supported the initiative of the State Committee of Ukraine on Land Resources and the Union of Land Surveyors of Ukraine. The president’s decision was very timely in the light of land reforms in Ukraine aimed at rational use and conservation of land natural resources [2] .
On this day in Ukraine it is customary to honor those whose profession is directly related to the land management of the state. The most distinguished employees are awarded gifts , bonuses and thanks to this day.
