The flag was approved on October 1, 2002 [1] (as the flag of the municipal entity “Chebarkul city”, after the municipal reform of 2006 - the Chebarkul city district) and entered in the State Heraldry Register of the Russian Federation with assignment of registration number 1091.

Description
“The flag of the municipal entity“ the city of Chebarkul ”is a rectangular panel with a ratio of width to length 2: 3, scaly divided horizontally into white and blue stripes, reproducing in the center of the figure from the coat of arms of the city: yellow with four bastions (two and two), shown above, a fortress filled with greenery, inside of which there are five yellow triple leaves of wild strawberries (one, two and two), connected in a ring, with forked stems to the outside. ”
Justification of Symbols
The flag in its content is single and harmonious: all the figures of the flag symbolize the city of Chebarkul as the center of the "Chelyabinsk health country" - the resort area of the region.
Chebarkul was founded in 1736 as a fortress on the border of Russian and Bashkir lands, which in the 18th century was included in the protection system of the southeastern borders of Russia and was a transit point for delivering food to the Cossack troops of the Southern Urals ; later the fortress became a large Cossack village - this is evidenced by a fortress with four bastions - a symbol of forethought, protection from any attacks.
Leaves - a symbol of fertility, growth, renewal. The triple leaves of strawberries, like the number three itself, personifying the three-part nature of the world - heaven, earth, water, allegorically convey a diverse plant world.
The leaves, folded in a ring (in a circle), symbolize unity, harmony, wholeness, eternity and allegorically show the continuous movement of life.
Yellow color ( gold ) in heraldry symbolizes wealth, justice, respect, generosity, sublime thoughts, nobility, dignity.
The white part of the cloth allegorically conveys an air environment favorable for climatotherapy of various respiratory diseases.
White color ( silver ) in heraldry is a symbol of faith, purity, sincerity, honesty, nobility, frankness.
The blue part of the flag points to Lake Chebarkul (translated from Turkic as “chebar” - motley, “kul - lake”), on the banks of which the modern city was founded, and also allegorically symbolizes radon sources used to restore health.
The blue color symbolizes greatness, beauty, devotion, truth, honor, virtue.
Green color complements the symbolism of nature, and indicates the geographical location of the city of Chebarkul - on the eastern slope of the Ilmen mountains.
Green is the color of nature, health, symbolizes abundance, life, rebirth, hope, prosperity.
White, blue and green colors allegorically combine favorable natural and climatic conditions for recreation and treatment of people.
