The Narimanov district of Baku ( azerb. Nərimanov rayonu ) is the administrative unit of Azerbaijan , one of the 12 administrative districts of Baku . Located in the southern part of the Absheron Peninsula .

Content
History
The district was established in 1941 as the "Kishlinsky district" of the city of Baku. In 1957 it was renamed to Narimanov district, in honor of the Azerbaijani writer, Bolshevik public figure Nariman Narimanov . In the same year, the abolished "Dzerzhinsky District" of the city of Baku was transferred to the administrative subordination of the district.
Political structure
The activity of the executive power of the Narimanov district is based on the "Regulation on local executive authorities" in accordance with the Decree of the President of Azerbaijan dated June 16, 1999 No. 138 [2] . The head of the Narimanov district is the Head of the executive branch - Abdin Alesker oglu Farzaliev ( 2010 ) [2] .

Economics
In the Narimanov district, bordering the Khatai district of the city, a large number of industrial enterprises of the city are concentrated, including the Baku Champagne Wine Plant, the Baku Wine and Vodka Factory, and the mechanical-repair plant named after G. Gadzhiev, engineering plant named after Sattar Khan , Baku Steel Plant, Baku Household Air Conditioner Plant, Chinar Refrigerator Plant, Azershina Plant, Baku Spinning Plant.
The district has a large number of sports facilities and arenas. Among them, a set of structures around the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the main football arena of Azerbaijan - the Republican Tofig Bakhramov Stadium are highlighted.
