Biography
Born in 1868 in Rauma , in the family of a sailor, merchant and ratman . In the summer of 1910, 41-year-old Cordelin met a young lawyer, Risto Ryti , who worked as a lawyer in Rauma. A business relationship has arisen. Based on complete trust, over time they have grown into companionship and, ultimately, friendships. Cordelin owned the estates of Mommila and Yokioinen, and the steam sawmill in Reposaari. He also very carefully placed funds in trade, shipbuilding, industry. Being familyless, he built himself a summer villa in the form of the medieval castle of Kultarant in Naantali (currently the building is the summer residence of the President of Finland ). However, he managed to spend only one summer there. November 7, 1917 , on the day of the October Revolution , Cordelin was killed by a Russian Bolshevik sailor in the so-called " skirmish in Momila ." He was killed in front of Risto and Gerda Ryti.
