Culkin, Kieran

Born: September 30, 1982 New York in the family of former Broadway actor Christopher Cornelius Culkin (born December 6, 1944) and telephone operator Patricia Brentrap. On the father’s side, it has a quarter of Irish roots, as well as German, English, Swiss-German and French roots, on the mother’s side, it is half Norwegian and half German. Kieran was the fourth child in the family. He has four brothers: Shane Arliss (born in 1976), Macaulay Culkin (born in 1980), Christian Patrick (born in 1987) and Rory Hugh (born in 1989), and two sisters: Dakota (1978-2008 ) and Quinn Kay (born in 1984). Kieran is the nephew of actress Bonnie Bedelia , who is his paternal aunt.

In 2013, he married Jazz Charton.

Career

Kiran’s acting debut, like his older brother Macaulay, took place on stage - at the age of 2 he played in the production of the Manhattan Theater “Symphony Space”. In the movie, Kieran was at the age of 7, playing the screen brother Macaulay in the movie " Home Alone . " The participation of Kieran in the filming was largely due to the fact that their father Christopher, using the popularity of Macaulay, was actively trying to shove the rest of his children into the movies. But, unlike Macaulay, Kieran played only secondary roles until his teenage years. Christopher Culkin did not consider Kiran financially attractive and therefore did not dispute his contracts, as he did in the case of Macaulay, trying to get millions of fees for filming. As a result, when in 1996 Macaulay decided to temporarily leave the cinema, Kieran and their younger brother Rory continued to act actively.

Only in 1998, a breakthrough came in Kiran’s career when he starred in the drama “The Giant ” . As a teenager, Kieran played the main roles only in independent cinema, while in big-budget films he got only small roles.
