Biography
Lev Mikhailovich Adamovich was born on November 15 (27), 1884 in St. Petersburg. Came from the nobility of the Minsk province .
Adamovich graduated from the Gatchina Institute named after Emperor Nicholas I , as well as the Moscow Military School, after which he served in the Life Guards Pavlovsky Regiment . Then he served as captain of the Separate Gendarmes .
He took part in the Russo-Japanese War .
During World War I, he commanded the Taman 150th Infantry Regiment . By the highest order of November 14, 1916, he was awarded the St. George's Arms for courage.
With the outbreak of the Civil War, Adamovich served in the troops of the Russian Army Admiral Alexander Vasilievich Kolchak .
From March 27 to September 1919 he commanded the 26th Shadrinsk mountain shooters regiment as part of the 7th Ural mountain shooters division. Later he commanded a rifle brigade as part of the strategic reserve of the Siberian army and served as an assistant commander of the 7th Ural Mountain Rifle Division.
Lev Adamovich took part in the Great Siberian Ice Campaign .
July 9, 1920 was promoted to major general .
In exile, Adamovich first lived in China , where he served as an employee of the training department of the CER in Harbin and the head of the Manchurian squads of Russian scouts. In 1931 he moved to Shanghai , and then to Los Angeles, where he died on July 29, 1960 .
