Story
The main character of the film is Danny Valdessekki, a young man of 22 years old, smart and charming, but blind from birth. Danny lives an active life, plays basketball, sends a ball to the basket to the sound, likes to listen to films and guess the appearance of movie heroes, accurately identifies perfumes by smell. Danny is going to become a lawyer, because he is very sensitive in communicating with people. He is surrounded by a friendly and caring Italian family, which supports him in everything. Danny never had a girlfriend; he is still a virgin. Lorenzo's older brother is trying to rectify the situation; he arranges Danny's meetings with his girlfriends (among whom are many prostitutes), but nothing happens, because Denny needs real love, not just sex.
Denny is proposing an experimental operation: a chip will be implanted in his brain, which will transmit the image from the camera mounted in glasses directly into the visual center of the brain. There is no guarantee of success, so an experiment needs a person who can bear the failure, and Danny is the most suitable candidate. After much hesitation, he agrees. At the medical center, he meets an Indian woman Lisa. Feelings flare up between the young people, but Lisa is engaged; the family, her and the future groom, have already met and are making plans for the life of the newlyweds. Having learned about Lisa’s feelings, her mother convinces her not to refuse to marry: the national traditions, sacredly observed in the diaspora , are conservative, refusal will become an insult to the groom's family and a disgrace to her own. Lisa at the next meeting tells Denny that they cannot be together. Danny takes her decision as a reluctance to connect life with the blind; he becomes depressed and misses doctor visits, which may make surgery impossible. Nevertheless, Danny pulls himself together, goes through all the examinations. He also explains to Lisa and finds out the true reason for her choice.
The operation is successful: Danny begins to see! Through glasses with a camera, fuzzy, in black and white, but he sees! For the first time in his life, he can really see the faces of family, friends and relatives. Danny is encouraged, the family is happy, but after returning from the hospital, he faints during an interview from a severe headache. Obviously, something went wrong. Doctors decide to remove the chip from Denny's brain, after which he will remain blind forever; he is forbidden to use glasses with a camera, since the consequences are unpredictable. But Danny decides that he should use the last chance and see the face of his girlfriend. He goes to an unfamiliar area of the city, to a restaurant, where at this moment the pre-wedding celebration begins. Everything turns out to be in vain: he no longer sees. However, Lisa, when Danny appears on the doorstep, forgets everything and rushes to his neck. The groom and his family, seeing this, silently leave the restaurant. An unconscious ambulance takes Danny to the hospital. Fortunately, the removal of the chip occurs without visible consequences. Danny remains blind, but finds herself a girlfriend.
